Friday Four or Five

1. I survived the Back to the Books Blog hop. =)  I visited every link, over three hundred. It was great to discover new bloggers!

2. I applied for a writers' grant. First time, so I don't know how great my chances are. The deadline is October first and the announcement on whether or not you get the grant isn't until April! I totally will have forgotten about it by then. Maybe that's for the best.

3. My blog was hacked on Wednesday. That sucked. I learned more than I wanted about malware and google crawlers. Everything seems to be working fine now.

4. On an up note-- I'm getting ready for my very first book blog tour! It's scheduled to run Sept 26 - 30, and I'll definitely be letting you in on all the goodies as we get closer. I thought for the next three weeks I'd do Teaser Tuesday,  and share a different little teaser from CLOCKWISE each time. So, stay tuned!

5. I went hiking a lot this summer.  Here are a couple pics over looking Kelowna.
Rose Valley from West Kelowna
Knox Mountain
Bear Creek Park

Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. You're going on a blog tour, that is awesome! And I'm glad you got your blog back, too. That must have been awful to have your blog hacked.

  2. Beautiful pics. Is this where you live? Near?

How do you apply for a writer's grant? That sounds awesome. Although you live in Canada right? I don't think we have those here in the US. Or if we do, they're a great big secret.

    Can't wait for Tuesday!

  5. Angela - The blog tour is exciting, blog hacking--not so much. :)

Anne- Yes, this is my city. All these hikes are 5 to 10 minutes away from where I live. It is a Canadian writers grant--they don't have grants in the US? I really hope you like Tuesday, too!

NiaRaie - Thanks, and I'm so glad you'll check out the tour!

Ann - Thanks, and I hope you have a great weekend, too!

  6. The pics are beautiful! So, I know I'm going to sound really stupid for asking, but what's a writer's grant?

  7. Nisa - The Canadian arts council has a variety of grants available to help artists out a little financially. There are certain criteria you have to meet and you have to send a resume and sample writing.

  9. Yay! I haven't been able to get to your blog the past week because it said "Malware Detected". So glad I got through and that you got that worked out! Such beautiful pictures, I'd love to hike there!

  10. They do have grants in the US. A lot of them are administered by state/local arts councils. Given the current economic climate, I don't know how many are still around, but that's another story.
